Memorial Day Weekend.  For some it may be all about the barbeques and beer.  For others it may be about getting the boat in the water and fishing.  For me, Memorial Day is about one major thing – “officially” being able to wear white jeans!  I know that most fashion rules can be broken, but call me a traditional gal, I always like to wait until this weekend hits before breaking out the white bottoms.

Whether they’re shorts, pants, skirts or jeans – white bottoms are such an iconic summer staple, and even more so here in Maine.  What screams New England more than a navy & white striped top paired with white?  It’s so classic, yet still fashion-forward.  Especially this season with the nautical trend being so huge!  You can wear L.L. Bean or Michael Stars and still look like you walked out of a fashion magazine. 

The question a lot of us often ask (considering our fickle weather), is if it’s still appropriate to wear white if (fingers crossed this doesn’t happen!) the temperatures are only in the 50’s or 60’s?  My sources say absolutely yes!  Just layer up…add a pop of color with a yellow scarf, instead of sandals throw on some boat shoes (which are also super cute this season!).  So enjoy your Memorial Day weekend in your cute whites!
