How To Dress For A Baseball Game

With Red Sox Opening Day this Friday, it’s starting to really feel like Spring (hopefully these fluke April snow storms are gone for good!).  Whether you’re a die-hard member of Red Sox nation, or just get dragged to the games by your significant other, a trip down to Fenway Park or Hadlock Field may be in your near future.

Whichever the venue, choosing an outfit to wear can sometimes be a challenge.  Yes, it’s only a baseball game, but you still want to look stylish & cute sitting on the bleachers eating a red hot dog and singing “Sweet Caroline.”  Here are some ideas to help you find that perfect look to watch America’s favorite pastime:

Tread Carefully – No matter how cute they are or how they “totally make your outfit,” it’s wise to leave the heels & wedges at home.  There’s nothing worse than navigating the bleachers in 4 inch espadrilles – not to mention the beer, peanut shells & lots of other “stuff” that could ruin them.  With so many fabulous flats out there to choose from, from your favorite Havaianas to a pair of Toms, you’ll look adorable (and practical).

Block Team Colors – Color blocking is one of the biggest trends this season.  What better way to wear this fun trend then with the team’s colors?  Pair a bright red top with a pair of cobalt blue shorts or vice versa.  Lucky for us, bright reds & cobalt blues happen to be some of the hottest colors for Spring (for the sake of fashion, we’re allowed to vary slightly from the traditional Red Sox navy & red).

Trade the Cap for a Fedora – So you’re not a baseball cap kind of gal.  No problem!  Sport a more stylish hat to the game with a super trendy straw fedora, which are everywhere this season.  If it’s a day game, the fedora will help shield your face from the rays.  If it’s a night game, it will…well, simply look cool.  Plus, you’ll still fit in with the rest of the fans since you’ll be wearing a hat (but you’ll look oh-so-stylish).

Now that you have your outfit all ready, it’s time to Play Ball!  Go Sox!
