Two Fashionistas, Too Many Restaurants

As Portlanders we know, if the winter weather were ever a reason to leave our great State, the local flavor is reason enough to stay.  While an abundance of tattoo parlors, Friday night fire throwers and the unmentionable topless parade keep things interesting, it’s the city’s amazing mix of delicious restaurants that really has us hooked.

They say that here in Portland there are more restaurants per capita than any other city next to San Francisco.  We say that’s something to be proud of, and if nothing else, it’s a darn good reason to get dressed up and hit the town!  So, without further adieu, here’s a peek at a few of our favorite looks for some of Portland’s hottest spots.

Sonny’s:  With its eclectic atmosphere, complete with cozy velour couches, colorful stained glass and our favorite infused vodkas, Sonny’s reminds us of a different time.  For this sweet spot, slip into seventies inspired pieces, like your favorite fitted bell bottoms or a flowy dress, and complete your look with wood or feather accessories!

Miyake: We’ll admit that we’ve been known to down Chef Masa’s sushi rocking a solid pair of Bean Boots, but for his new location on Fore Street, we’ll be kicking things up a notch.  Go as bold as the food in a vibrant summer dress.  Give your look some edge by adding rocker accessories like chunky heels and a leather bomber.  After that, the only thing we advise is to eat your heart out, ladies!

Ginkgo Blue:  Opened recently by the owners of one of our favorite dinner spots, Walters, Ginkgo Blue seems to have accomplished a loungey feel reminiscent of a NYC or Boston lounge (we’ve heard Pearl is jealous!).  At this trendy jazz lounge, you’ll find us sipping martinis and swaying to the sweet sounds, all while rocking our favorite black and metallic pieces.

Portland Lobster Company:  It should come as no surprise that our favorite place to grab a lobster roll and an ice cold Sam Summer has the biggest waterfront deck in town!  For this summer-friendly destination, we’ll be channeling our inner bohemians with go-to denim shorts paired with classic basics.  We’ve been known to spend long weekend afternoons on this deck, so we’ll be adding a stylish fedora or our biggest pair of sunnies to this ensemble.
